Born in Karelia, spent his childhood in Crimea and Krasnoyarsk Krai. Graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University. Member of the International Philosophical Society (ISFP), the International Federation of Journalists, activist of the Republican Movement of Karelia. Cousin grandson of Ukrainian writer and publicist Pavlo Shtepa.
