An Azerbaijani diplomat and statesman. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan from 1998 to 1999. He also worked as an ambassador of Azerbaijan to Latvia (2005—2010) and Estonia (2007—2015). He is known for his works on the Karabakh issue, peace initiatives, and the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. Currently, he is engaged in public and political activities.
