Head of the Center for Defense Strategies, Minister of Defense of Ukraine (2019–2020)
Former Minister of Defense of Ukraine (2019–2020), currently co-founder and chairman of the Centre for Defence Strategies, which focuses on security research and political initiatives in Ukraine. Prior to his ministerial appointment, he led the Ministry of Defense’s Reform Project Office, where he was a key initiator and architect of military reforms. Additionally, Zagorodnyuk served as an advisor to the President of Ukraine on defense matters and a member of the supervisory board of Ukroboronprom. His experience in industry, including as the founder of Discovery Drilling Equipment, also contributed to the development of Ukraine’s defense sector and strengthening cooperation with international partners.
